Submission Guidelines
We are accepting contributions in the form of original, previously unpublished research articles and papers. All contributions have to be relevant but not limited to the field of Sociology.
We are looking for pieces that feature intersectional and interdisciplinary perspectives, voices and ideas.
The work submitted can either be in the form of editorial articles or research articles. Fictional pieces, poetry, photography and prose are not valid contributions to this magazine. All contributions and authors, irrespective of their identities are welcome and eligible to submit to this magazine.
General Guidelines
All submissions must be original and previously unpublished. Submissions should be emailed to reach.samajiksociologymag@gmail.com with the following:

The subject line must be ‘Name — Title of Submission’.

In the body of the email, please include:

Name
-
Title of the paper
-
Name of your institution along with year of study/Designation (if, a working professional)

An author’s bio (up to 150 words)
-
Abstract of your paper (max. 300 words)

Pitch Guidelines
We are also accepting pitches for editorial/research articles. All pitches must be emailed to the aforementioned email ID, in the following format:

The subject line must be ‘Pitch — Name’.

In the body of the email, please include:
-
Name
-
An Author’s Bio (upto 150 words)
-
The pitch must be attached included as an attachment, consisting of answers to the following questions:
-
Why is this topic/subject relevant to you?
-
What inspired/urged you to write about this? What are you aiming to explore within the topic?
-
How are you going to write this article? (Methodology, perspectives, approaches, etc.)
Please ensure your pitch is no less than 300 and no more than 400 words.
Writing Guidelines
The word limit for the submissions are, as follows:
-
For Editorial Articles/ Short-form Articles, 600 - 1200 words.
-
For Research Papers, 1500 - 4000 words.
-
All submissions should be formatted according to the APA 7th Edition Citation Format.
The word limits are exclusive of references/bibliography. Please note that it is mandatory to provide hyperlinks wherever applicable in the references.
An extensive and complete list of references with APA (7th Editions) formatting is mandatory. The document must be formatted in:

Times New Roman
-
12 pt. size
-
1.5 line spacing with space before and after paragraphs
-
Justified Alignment
Submission must be included in the form of a Microsoft Word attachment. PDFs will not be accepted.
Once submitted, you can expect to hear from us within 7-10 days. Please note that your submissions will be subject to edits and alterations as the Editors deem fit. All changes will be informed to the author and will require your approval, prior to publishing. Your submission will be published on our website within 10 days.
If we wish to publish your article in the annual issue, you will be notified about the same with suggested changes and revisions. There will be no monetary compensation provided to the contributors.
